Hi, I have been looking to book a Return trip, Business class, Brisbane to Vietnam. Over a period of about 10 days. Each time I look the
fare seems to have grown.. My question: Do the airlines (Singapore) have an algorithm that is tracking my enquiry and boosting the price accordingly?
It seems strange to me that the price is jumping so quickly as Singapore has 4 flights a day out of Brisbane..
Many thanks for any thoughts. Andrew

I agree with VPS.

In addition, fuel costs may be causing continual increases. It's difficult to tell. I'm just glad I bought my flights in March!

Hi Everybody, Thanks for the interest.. Actually I meant to add to my post.. I am looking for Travel Next February.! And, I thought of an idea today and checked the fares thru 'Microsoft edge' which is a browser I never use. Interestingly the fare was about $200 less then thru Google search, which is what I had used before to look.

Yeah, I've seen this a few times (most recently with Lufthansa), even when clearing cookies etc. I was searching for different combinations of routings & dates, then had to check a few things, and each time I did a new search, the flight I wanted increased in price by around $1.

In hindsight, I should have been searching on ITA Matrix or Google Flights and only gone to Lufthansa's website when I was actually ready to book.

Yes, I can't rate ITA Matrix highly enough, even though it's not perfect.

Mostly, the 'old' version, which may not be available for much longer, seems to do a very good job.

A good travel agent will usually offer a cheaper fare than booking direct with an airline for international flights.
