Airfares to US to drop?

Why is that a problem, unless your name is similar on to one on a no fly list. The airline taking you out of the country supplies the authorities with the data.
Wasnt saying departure is a problem, just contrasting with the grilling occasionally given on arrvl..

If prices are cheap enough I'll visit the US.
If they offered me $10,000 to visit the USA I'd turn it down. I've had enough of the good old US of A. Haven't been there for 20 years and will never go again (well unless I get dragged there and put into Guantanamo Bay - yes I know it's in Cuba).

Having spent many a long time in the USA (I'm a UA 2.5 million miler), I have no desire to go again. I do know what it's like, and I would support the notion that it is basically a safe place to visit. I've walked the streets around LA Union Station at 3 am (stepping over people trying to sleep) and never had a problem. I'm just no longer happy with the emerging culture (with age comes wisdom...).

I came across this article in today's SMH, which I thought was very interesting, however I don't agree with the sentiment expressed in it though...

I’ve changed my mind about travelling to Trump’s America

This is getting a bit off-topic, which was the possibility of fares coming down if perceptions of the US as an unwelcoming destination increases.

Have entered the US maybe 40 times since I first went in 1975. The last time, arriving by air in Seattle in Sept 24 (under ESTA, pre-Trump) was the most confrontational ever. The full 20 questions without a trace of good humour, requests for accom paperwork, tours booked. This for a couple in thr 60s/70s.

Compare and contrast our departure. Many of you will hv exited at LAX simply by changing planes, Dom to Intl. Yes, you're on the departing plane's manifest but nobody asks to see yr passport when you leave..
Interesting, my Aug '24 trip arriving into DFW (have been to US before) the CBP officer asked a couple of basic what are you doing in the US questions, didn't even take my passport off my hands and just waved me through.

But why would they care if the passenger is leaving?
That was my point. Grilling on arrvl, don’t care how you leave, so long as you do.. in Eu you hv to front an immig desk, ditto most place I can think of, even if it’s just a pp scanner. But in the US you can just piss off!
