AirNZ reward seats can only be economy or business class, not PE? Seriously?

Tracked down some PE reward seats to HNL, availability shows on Expertflyer.Call Virgin Australia - Sorry, we can only book economy or business class fares on Air New Zealand!Madness!

I assume you want to travel Premium Economy?

Y+ seems to be unobtainable with partner miles ANYwhere.....in any alliance.

Correct. All NZ Premium Economy booking classes are revenue classes with A class also serves as Airpoints upgrade only.

An interesting limitation when compared to OW, where generally if PE rewards are available they can be booked.

Question should be - are there reward Premium Economy rewards seats avaialble on Virgin Australia or their partner airlines? (given that only NZ and VA have international premium economy products available for sale - no such thing as premium economy on DL EY and SQ metal). If NZ is the only international partner that actually has premium economy, and it has restricted its premium economy cabin to revenue fare boking class only, then how are you supposed to book a premium economy rewards seat through Velocity on a partner airline?

Here is the Velocity web page - note that the casual viewer would read that page as saying that premium economy reward seats on Virgins international partner airlines may be available. Are they?

Whats that about advertising goods that aren't available to the customer?

And before anyone asks about the #$%^&* T&Cs that may be on a different web page - is there a #$%^&* anywhere that says that premium economy velocity rewards seats on Virgin/Velocity's partner airlines do not exist at all ?

I know I'm nitpicking here, but SQ do have premium economy.

Personally, I don't read that page to say what you've suggested. It is a very generic statement saying Economy, Premium Economy, Business & First Class rewards seats are available on VA and it's partners. Now, some of the partners don't have First class, some don't have (or don't offer as rewards) Premium Economy. But they aren't misleading as you can get Economy, Premium Economy, Business & First Class rewards, it just depends on whether that is VA, or their partner, or both.

Well I feel a bit foolish. I didn't read the fine print closely enough. Within the Points Tables:

So that's that....
