I'm a huge fan of airport lounges which have outdoor terraces - mainly for the fresh air, but especially if there's a view of the runway!

My favourite is probably the Lufthansa Senator Lounge in Hamburg, which also has German beer on tap.

I also recently discovered the outdoor seating area upstairs in the KLM non-Schengen Crown Lounge at Amsterdam:

It's not quite the same, but Air New Zealand also has an enclosed "outdoor" area at its AKL international lounge.

What other airport lounges do you know of that have outdoor terraces? And are you a fan?

Juddles happened to mention last night that UA lounge at LAX has an outdoor terrace, and Lounge Buddy confirms

My worry would be that there would be no actual fresh air just a bunch of smokers and vapers polluting the space, given how much more common smoking is in Europe.
Swiss also has an outdoor lounge in Zurich, but I think it’s strictly smoke and vape free.

I think almost all ‘lounge’ outside areas are pretty much non-smoking, as opposed to public outside areas, where it’s sometimes allowed (like LAX, DEL, PVG and SIN).

Venice (VCE).

Oh, and I have been there several times. The lounge itself isn't bad, and it has self-pour wines, including prosecco...

Long time since I was there but was in evening. Quite atmospheric with the heaters. Made up for the so-so food

Surprised no mention of the outdoor terrace in (outside of?) the NZ-operated Star Alliance Lounge at LAX in TBIT. No photos of it, but not hard to find via google search.

Yes, I’ve not had a chance to check it out. The UA one must be new(ish). But that was possibly the old F Lounge and Polarised?

Doesn’t the CDG T1 Lounge have some outdoor space? Years since I was there.

PER QF Int J lounge has the open roof thing also - nothing gets you closer to flying than sucking in avcat in the morning.

Back when DL and VA were friends, I was able to use the Delta Air Lines' Sky Club in concourse F at Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta. It has a "SkyDeck".

Yes, this was a big disappointment at HKG. Tried to spot an outdoor area in the terminal. There is - for smokers. No fresh air, then... 🫤

VS Clubhouse had a garden area on the roof that was fairly basic but had goo views. No idea if that’s still there cor not.
The new Pearl lounge at AUH has an inside terrace area that feels nice and open.
