Airport Transfer - what constitutes too little time?

These are both marketed and operated by AY. I would think you would be protected if the OSL flight is delayed/cancelled.

HEL is also not a massive airport - just a single terminal

However is the SEA flight daily?
Yeah that’s what I’m hoping, and the flights have a good history of running on time.

AY33 runs Mon, Wed, Fri. Our LAX-SYD QF flight is on Wed two days later luckily so plenty of time to get there

We have a tighter connection at HEL in August and I’m a little nervous. Especially as it’s a oneworld rewards booking via QF.

I have an even tighter (by ten minutes) connection coming up. I'm not terrifically worried. I've been in HEL before and it's not a huge airport. Besides, if I miss my next flight, they'll put me on another - both are on the one ticket.

It's places like LHR or SYD or CDG that bother me.

You both will be fine if your incoming flight within 60 mins of the scheduled departure of the outbound. On a weekday afternoon the walk from the farthest away Schengen gate #5 to the farthest away non-Schengen gate #49 is likely to take 30 mins, including passport control. This presuming your baggage will be transferred and you don't need to collect & bag-drop it & go through security check (add 30 mins for that, if needed, i.e. arrival min 90 mins before the next departure).

Besides, Finnair has the good habit of often waiting for connecting passengers. Even if it's just one lowly OWS guy coming from a heavily late domestic flight, delaying a late night SIN flight by 30 mins. 🥺 They even transferred my bags. And it's not the only flight where I see them rather connecting you, as planned, than reorganising your remaining flights. 🫡

I also think you will be OK time wise,I transited through HEL last week and small / efficient airport.
On the flip side, I had a 24 hour stopover in HEL several months ago as Finnair changed time of my connecting flight.
Great city, low profile, easily walkable. Train from airport to city run every 10-20 mins, duration 40 minutes, 4 euros ( buy tickets from machine on platform)
Helsinki is very interesting, well worth a stop over. I can highly recommend Ataman walking tours, was meant to be small group, but only me!
