Without wishing to restart any debates, I'm assuming that tinkybelle is just warning us to be careful what address you use as they might ask for a driving license as verification. If Rooflyer uses his Aussie address but a Canadian Bank Debit Card (with his Aussie address?), then it can't be that issue which flags a "fraud alert" to AS. I think I remember reading elsewhere, this happened to someone in the States but they didn't have a current driving license either so got their points refunded.
If you relocated overseas or just moved house, your address would legitimately change and AS are just asking for verification. If you can't provide it, well they'll shut your account. Would that be a reasonable assumption?
Just for info: My Canadian debit card has a Canadian address, so it breezes through. Basically IIRC what the original kerfuffle was that Alaskan started to decline credit cards with non Nth American addresses on it as they claimed the 'overseas' occasional 'frauds' were too hard to administer/chase. I imagine points.com might charge Alaskan extra for processing 'overseas' cards as well. So its a matter (for Alaskan) of the source of the credit 'risk', not the address of their Miles account holder.
I'd be surprised if changing the address on one's account concerned them, but you might be right.
Anyway, we'll wait and see if the non Nth American cards gate is lifted again.
