Flying on Alaskan Airlines flight in US.

From QF website under: Airline Earning Table for Alaska Airlines, it says that points are not earned on Codeshare flights.,

But then in another section of QF website showing a points earn example for Alaska Airlines it says:
Points earned on Alaska Airlines flying: Los Angeles to Seattle in Economy classes of BGHKLMQSTUVY = 954 points earned

Does this imply that Status Credits will/ will not be earned for this flight also ??
As there is no mention of SC earning.

Tks

Since SC are not mentioned, they will not be earned.

This is in relation to AS flight numbers.

Note that QF and AA codeshares on AS metal may earn SC's.

It's a AS flight number.
So am I safe to presume if I'm flying in one of the following classes of BGHKLMQSTUVY, that I'll get points but no SC. ?

Hi,

The restriction you point out is for AS code-shares on other carriers. E.g. if it's an AS flight number, but the actual flight is operated by United, then you will not get any points. You only get points for AS flights numbers on AS operating flights. You will not get any SCs.

Thanks, I get it now, but not sure how I find out who operates the actual flight.
(Booking made through works travel agent) but I'm guessing it's an AS flight as it is noted on the AS website.

If you tell us the route and the code, we should be able to tell you if it's AS or AS code share :)

Yup AS453 is indeed on AS metal.

AS2392 is operated by Horizon, a bit like Qantas Link is to Qantas and American Eagle is to American. They do the AS regional Ops . Looks like they're operating Dash 8 Q400's on that route most the time.

On a different note, the travel agent has made both my AS flight bookings and they are confirmed but they are not showing in my QFF login account. Is this because they are Qantas partner airlines and they won't show in 'My Bookings' or because the TA has not entered by QFF number when they did the booking

Alaska uses "Worldspan" as it's GDS, Qantas use Amadeus.

Do you have the ticket number? If so does it start with 027- ?

Are there any Qantas flights in the booking?

There are No Qantas flights within the booking.

My travel documents show a PNR locator number (Amadeus Reservation Number)
which I used to login to checkmytrip.com.au without a problem, but I don't have a ticket number as such.
On checkmytrip.com.au under Traveller information is says "Your frequent traveller card(s) have been sent to the providers with your travel reservation."

So....If this is the case, I don't know why the 2 x AS flights are not showing on Qantas under "my Bookings".....is it because there are no other QF flights within the booking ?

Or should I ask the TA for the ticket number for the AS flight reservation # so that I can manually enter it against my Qantas FF ?

If it shows on C/M/T then your TA uses Amadeus.

Does the "e-Ticket Receipt" tab show up at the top of your booking on checkmytrip?

It's strange you cannot use the amadues reference on www.qantas.com/yourbooking

Can you see it on LAN.com Imprima su ticket ?

Yes - the " e-Ticket Receipt" tab shows up at the top of my booking on checkmytrip, and there is shows a e-ticket number 027-xx_xx_xx_x for the AS flights (refering to your previous question)

No - I cannot see it on Lan.com

Maybe the TA entered my QFF # wrongly hence why it's not showing in "my bookings" ???

Rang Qantas who said because there are no other QF flights within the booking that the AS flight won't show in 'my bookings'.
He advised to keep the boarding passes from the flight in case the points aren't allocated.

I fly SEA-SFO. I book through aa.com, and then add my QFF No into the system. I get the ff points and SC's so if your TA can change the AS flights to an AA flight number this might alleviate the QF points earn problem. I will be corrected if wrong, but I understand an AA flight number will earn QF SC's and FF.

The QF website states
Airline Eligible Booking Class Cabin Class Base Rate Cabin Class Bonus
Alaska Airlines (AS) BGHKLMQSTUVY Economy 1
First 1- 50%
Excluded: Points are not earned on Codeshare Flights operated by an airline other than Qantas.

Yes, I did that and within the booking details it says: MP#: QF xx_xx_X (edited for security)

So it looks like my QFF number has been recorded.
thanks for pointing me in the right direction Serfty.
Now all you need to do is select your seating online ...

If the flight is booked you can't just change AS to AA unfortunately. AA sell and market the flights on AA codes, and AS fly them. It'd be like booking QF93 MEL-LAX and asking them to change it to the AA code. It can't be done, you'd have had to book the AA flight with AA, as it's marketed by AA.

If you haven't paid, then by all means investigate the AA codes on AS (and you may find a good F fare on AA codes which is always good for the SC balance!)

And if you're flying SFO-SEA, be sure to do SFO-LAX-SEA on AA codes in F (SFO-LAX will be on AA, LAX-SEA on AS). Much much better for the SC's and probably not much more than SFO-SEA direct in whY ;)

I recently flew on Horizon Air from San Jose to Mammoth and Mammoth to LAX and while points were earned, status credits were not.
