Gifts for cabin crew

So which airlines are safe, Qantas, BA, EK?

The only ones I've done it on (at the end of the flight!) is SQ, because its always fabulous service and QR because they often get rough attitudes from pax AND its always fabulous service/experience.

When we are travelling as a family (usually on QF), my kids will often give the FAs some chocolates or lollies as (i) it's a nice token of appreciation and (ii) has no sense of entitlement or expectation coming from kids.

I can see that working with gifts from kids.

When I see a demanding passenger (not corporative, or even rude to the FAs), or just general Karen and the like, I will give them a death look, or some indirect scolding because the FAs cannot do it, but as a fellow passenger, I can do it.

The FAs always show me an appreciative look afterwards. From my perspective, this is the best gift for FAs who suffer from this.

So I had 2 flights yesterday - BNE VA ADL VA PER, both in Economy X (as a VA Plat).

My usual gift of the sleeve of 5 Ferrero Rocher chocolates as I board thanking the crew for their service.

The BNE/ADL crew were thrilled and made sure they looked after me, with them all coming to thank me in 4A. My 2 seat mates wondered “WTF is QF WP” 🤷‍♂️

Their gifts in return (let’s just say it’s not coffee in the cup 😉)

The ADL/PER crew were just as effusive in their thanks and the whY FA’s gave me some free snacks

Whilst the CM gave me this familiar cup and I took the message to heart:

Another two sectors today - VA PER/MEL and MEL/BNE

Both crews were thrilled to receive the sleeve of FR’s.

The CM Claire on PER/MEL was hilarious as she stuffed up one of the announcements and said “choose your words Claire”, slapping her head and laughing.

I brought a bag of individual kit-kats for the crew last week. 3 hours later my friendly cabin attendant came through with the QF chocolate run. I burst out laughing when I saw she was offering Kitkats. She told me the crew had eaten and appreciated my gift. Its just a token thankyou gesture

I always gave them a pack of chocolate after landing because I didn’t want them to give me another snacks in return. Just wanna say thank you for looking after us.

Glad to see that they were SO HAPPY (many times) after they have got a treat. I know they had gone back to work in a few minutes later as they didn’t have time for a break - they had to clean up the seats and tidy up quickly.

It’s interesting to see that most Air Canada short haul crew (even not met me before) came to say thank you to me (1:1). So happy to hear that.

Wow finally someone that does the gifting at the end of the flight !!

I have only provided a gift (a few times and Ferrero Rocher) towards the end of the flight, about 90-60 mins before landing and things get crazy in clean up mode (long haul flights)

Sadly a few times I kept the choccies for myself as the gift wasn't required.... :(

Well, you can be the last pax to exit the plane, you can say “thank you for looking after us” to crew and then gave them a gift.
