I have been trying to look at mileage (award tickets) for over two weeks now and EVERY search that i have done has shown NO QFF availability on ANY SECTORS for ANY DATES in the next 12 months,
Have phoned Alaskan and operators say there just may be no availability to display but something seems amiss when ANY QFF sectors can not be found, any similar experiences out there or any body else noticed the problem?
For example looking SYD-LAX when there are ALWAYS X class on most days, all that is found now is Fiji, AA and JAL?

This has been going on for a little while. I agree that something is up - if it was just a one-off glitch it should have been fixed by now.

I’ve tried to get an answer from Alaska Airlines but none is forthcoming at this point.

They probably realised the issues with the fact that millions & millions of people with Amex Points now have access to Alaska via Hawaiian and pulled lots of availability. (or perhaps the partners have decided to restrict it from Alaska due to this)

Airlines don't want anyone to have access to bargain reward flights or sweet spots nowadays

Slightly off topic, but I noticed Qantas reward seat availability on Air New Zealand website also disappeared at around the same time.

If this isn’t an IT issue QF really need to start working on their issues with other airlines. First we had QR effectively remove (almost) all availability for QFF, I feel like another airline has played games with QF reward seats too, but who that is/ was escapes me at this time? And now looking like AS and NZ are following.

I think more likely to do with the Alaska Hawaiian merger; once that settles one would hope availability returns.

*ETA maybe not seems to be affecting cash fares too. I notice that I cant seem to get multi-city to return AA domestic flights (on routes I know they fly) to connect with QF tickets.

That’s my thought too. The Hawaiian merger no doubt is causing some integration issues since Alaska and Hawaiian have different partners and yet the points can now move freely between the two programs.

What would be interesting to see if any of the other dozens of award partners Alaska has are impacted. For instance, can you book ANA award flights on Alaska?

BA and SQ also seem to no longer be available. And that's only a very recent development.

I wonder what QFF has done to upset Alaska?
Nothing apparently. Generally believed to have been an issue on the AS end.
Is this another Qatar situation?
No, if that were the case AS would have been deliberately withholding their award inventory from QFFs. Currently zero reason to do that. In fact, QF are pondering flights from Oz to SEA to tap into more AS codeshares. Hopefully we might also see some movement on HA codeshares?

Does seem odd that it was only AS accessing QF seats. If QF had tweaked something at their end, then potentially a bunch of partners would have been seeing nothing?

Yay, maybe just a conveniently timed DSC period issue 😂
The Venn diagram of QF PC/PC+ and AS members burning points on QF CRs must be wafer thin overlap? Not to mention AA, BA etc that didn’t get locked out?

As someone who is a QF PC+ member and booked a QF classic award on BA earning status credits, I take exception to such remarks!

Further supporting my argument that this is an IT issue with AS. The one thing we don't know (and probably will never know) are the things going on behind the scenes to make the merger possible. I have no doubt that some systems had to be taken offline whilst Alaska brought in Hawaiian's ticketing and award system. Now sure, the two haven't been fully integrated as at yet, but these integrations take time and usually there will be a period between a merger of an airline being announced, the backend systems getting overhauled and customers finally seeing the results of those overhauls (i.e. typically "enhancements to the program").

It must have been fixed, as I can see the below QF award seat:

Great to see QF has re-entered the chat here. Hopefully in the coming days the remaining partners reappear as well.

The Venn diagram of QF PC/PC+ members who are both AFF members and redeeming points for QF flights from other partner loyalty programs is possibly close to 1:1 (but still a wafer thin intersection!)

Oh good, so my little 15K trip from SYD-CNS-MEL in J for 56 status credits didn't get us all locked out forever. 🙃
