Has anyone any experience with redeeming the business upgrades given with the Alata Plus card? Does anyone know how to check for availability online for these?

I potentially have to travel to Venice; if I booked through Etihad the AUH-VCE leg would be codeshare on Alitalia metal. Would this be upgradeable if it has an EY flight number? I can't work this out easily from the MilleMiglia site. Essentially I'd like to double-dip and bank all miles/SC's for the PER-AUH leg to VA but upgrade the Alitalia portions.

If I just booked through Alitalia I'd end up having to credit miles to them which would most likely be a waste. Through Etihad I'll earn no VA miles/SC's on the codeshare flight anyway, so would only book through them if I could work the upgrades.

It must be AZ ticket and metal to be upgradeable using miles or system upgrades.

I received card named ULISSE from Alitalia. Not much information about it, just saying this card offers many exclusive advantages such as two complementary Business Class upgrades on medium-haul flights which can be requested for the card holder or anyone else nominated by the cardholder.

My elite membership expired end of March so I'm not sure if this is the downgraded card (valid until 03/17) or an additional benefit sent to "loyal" members.

Same here, I'm flying Alitalia in June, but only a short flight, not even sure if Alghero has a lounge

... all members of Alitalia's own MilleMiglia program can now earn and redeem miles on Virgin Australia flights, with all miles earned considered 'qualifying miles' for the purpose of earning or retaining your status level with Alitalia.

Freccia Alata Club, Freccia Alata Plus Club and Freccia Alata Plus Per Sempre MilleMiglia cardholders also gain access to Virgin Australia's own lounges when flying domestically within Australia from today.

Sorry to bring up an old thread. Were you Freccia Alata or Freccia Alata Plus? My Freccia Alata Plus expires 03/2017 and trying to work out if they will give me a soft landing to Freccia Alata or if I'll be out in the cold
