Hi Dajop,
Can you elaborate a bit on these codeshares?
Easy one to answer! Jetstar codeshares. ;) I have seen them pop many times when doing mock bookings from BKK or SIN.

Did I do a good impersonation of Dajop?

Thanks John, So...they are non-earning codeshares?

Possibly. I have never flown one of these codeshares and have never asked. I wouldn't think QF would include a fully flexible JQ fare on a red e-deal or super saver fare from Singapore.

My guess is they would be treated the same as Australian Airlines. No SC's and no FF points.

5600-5999= Jetstar codeshares

Some of the earlier QF 5xx_ flights involve B*ses! ;)

Another piece of useless information :p

According to some Qantas people I have spoken with, its a US FAA rule. The QF code on USA domestic flights can only be sold in conjunction with QF travel to or from the USA. That also includes selling QF107/108 LAX-JFK-LAX.

However, there are some people who believe the FAA rule should also permit the QF codes to be used in conjunction with any international itinerary and not just QF to/from USA.

AA will be keen to book you onto the AA code because they will then receive a greater proportion of the fare paid for the ticket.

Probably due to air services agreement/xth freedom rule?

They earn at the full economy rate for classes YBHKW.

What is a 9300 flight number? I was looking at flights from SYD-SIN in November, and here is some of my results:

What's the QF9349 flight?

9349 = Pseudo flight (most flight numbers 9000-9949 are pseudo flights)

Basically it's a 'fake' flight and is purely there for testing purposes. You'll find these flights scattered across the QF timetable (AKL-CHC, SIN-FRA etc) and they're noted as being operated by the 737-400.

These flights will appear in the timetable, although obviously one is unable to book any of these flights.

It's QF undertaking testing in the public domain....

Rgds

It's one thing turning up in a timetable, but these turned up as an option to book on the QF website, Wonder what would happen if one actually booked a flight?

Try it and see what happens :)

Note the "Air Nauru" brand no longer exists. The airline is to be renamed "Our Airline" and will commence services on the 18th September. Note that OzJet (Norfolk Air) operates services to and from Brisbane/Sydney to Norfolk Island. Air Nauru lost the contract some time ago....

Polynesian Airlines is no longer a Qantas Frequent Flyer partner airline and is also no longer a Qantas codeshare partner. The Polynesian Airlines brand still exists, however, the airline only operates services domestically within Samoa and a few regional flights to ports such as Pago Pago and Tongatapu. DJ/Samoan Gov't/Investor airline Polynesian Blue now operates PH's old international services into Australia/NZ.

EVA Airways now only fly Brisbane-Taipei-Brisbane on which Qantas places its flight number. Services to Sydney were suspended indefinitely. IIRC, they're looking at a return in 2008.

British Airways no longer services Melbourne.

Regards
