All Qantas Hotel bookings now earn 3 points per $ spent.

We used hotelscombined for the Rydges Sydney - all the going rates were in the $400 range including with the hotel direct, ended up with an OTA (via hotelscombined) charging $239 for the same room (we wanted a twin room but ended up having to book a family room instead as no 'twins'). Too cheap to believe? We thought so, but booking was honoured/accepted without question.

That is a pretty reasonable bargain

I have just discovered on the Qantas Hotels website and have came across an actual " Enhancement" for the better.

The Qantas Hotels booking portal now offers 3 points per dollar spent on all Hotels, not just partner hotels as previous stipulated.

This is fantastic news, as the ability to earn frequent flyer points on all hotel bookings includes many gems in the hotel/accomodation industry that were previously advantageous to book on other third party websites, but now Qantas Hotels is certainly going to be my "go to" website for accommodation bookings.

And I just booked about half a dozen hotels yesterday (not on the QF website)! If only I'd seen this before I booked...

Never mind I know your pain I've done it myself countless times

At least I'll know next time! :)

Seriously though, this will see me booking through Qantas hotels much more often in future. Good move by Qantas.

For those that claim the prices are higher with QF Hotels, there's always the Price Promise. I have been successful with this in the past, although the process was a bit drawn out.

I totally agree --- it will see me booking in the future via QF

A factor to consider is that the QF price promise is only for australian registered websites. Cheaptickets and Orbitz (who also offer genuine discount coupons) are US based sites. So no price match. Rates via coupons are also excluded, and Expedia AU is often much more expensive.

So how do you value points? A 19% discount (over and above already discounted rates), or 3 points per dollar?

Isn't that the question we all agonise over in our quest for points earning/redemption opportunities?

The answer, of course, is 42 ;).....

My husband spends 3-4 nights per week around country NSW, so I always use QF hotels so that we get the points. Often in the smaller towns in the past there has been no one offering points for the stay. So I am very happy with the change.
Also booked all our next holiday accommodation while the 9 & 12 points promotion was on, will return with 90,000 points just from hotel stays.

I booked a hotel during the 9ppd offer a while back and have now completed the stay. What is the typical delay, following the stay, for points to post to the FF account?

In my experience, 4 - 8 weeks.

I'm waiting on a few stays to credit as well.

I just chased some airline points from the same hotel stay and got informed that the booking was ineligible due to the fact that I booked through Expedia. Did we know that QF Hotels uses Expedia?
