Also increases the taxi time for QLink substantially

I thought the T2 QP was tiny - about the size of the first version of the BNE J lounge - so not that much to absorb.
TSV last QF flight is an hour or so before the last JQ flight and the lounge angels say an announcement that the lounge will be closing in so many minutes as this is the last QF flight of the day.
A number of QF Link ports that service Q400 aircraft (eg. Coffs Harbour, and as of March 2013 Dubbo) have security screening, so these passengers may be allowed to directly enter the secure zone (handy for a quick lounge visit!)
In regards to SYD T2 that has not been the case in the past. With the SYD T2 QP remaining open until the last JQ departure of an evening, which is normally some time after the last QFlink departure.QF doesn't open lounges for JQ flights and they are only open when JQ flights clash with there times.

The international transfer desk and lounge, currently opposite Gate 1 at Sydney Domestic Terminal (T3) will relocate to Gate 15 from Monday March 04th 2013
The relocation of the desk is to accommodate the move from T2 to T3 of all Qantaslink services in late April.
Not sure about it really being inefficient. They had a timetable and generally stuck to it, other than running more frequently due to loads/demand.I was thinking the obvious place to run a bus near gate 1 is the transfer bus area. Just couldn't work out what would happen with the international transfer. Hopefully that becomes more efficient with the change.

5 mins from QP to the bus lounge, in the evenings that mean QP departure by:15, :35 & :55.
It will save a minute or so with less distance, but also the excellent aircraft viewing opportunities of the aircraft being serviced/washed will go.

Will be interesting to see.
If you fly in from say MKY into BNE on a QLink flight and have a connection to say SYD you have to do security again.
But not if you fly VA.
I assumed this was because not all regional ports have the scanners up and running yet, so it's an all or nothing approach.
Can't see CTL or ZBL getting a scanner
Ironicly gate 15 is where Qantaslink used to bus passengers from. For international it will be interesting to see how it works, as I don't recall there being a lounge downstairs, meaning passengers will need to wait in the main terminal before the bus departs, clearly scanning passes on boarding which may well slow things down.
