@moa999 Don’t suppose you have a handle on the Q400 refurb progress?

No. Was meant to be complete by end-2019

Given its just a seat recover, harder to track - no change to seatmaps, or obvious hump on spotters photos.

As I remarked before, this is an excellent suggestion but how does one counter an airline's argument that 'to retain a couple of B744s means we have to have a whole set of B744 type-rated captains and first officers?

It isn't like a rail operator where drivers are often trained in how to drive what can be numerous classes of widely varying diesel-electric, diesel-hydraulic and electric locomotives as well as railcars (and even in a few cases steam locomotives.)
You simply keep the rating current for the existing B744 crew. Not suggesting you would train new crew. The 744 crew are being transitioned to other aircraft, but they could also be kept current on the 744.

The refurbishment does not include the installation of the next gen Business Suites so they still have the non-movable partitions in the middle seats.
Hi,

A bit of confusion on my part, but can someone clearly state that the A330-200's that fly Melb-Perth have still got the old Business Class seats with the FIXED divider in the middle of the centre pair? My wife and I hate the fixed screen.

Thank you

Yes all the A330 aircraft have the business suite with the fixed screen sorry to say.

After travelling overseas together with my significant other 24/7 for several weeks, a few hours with a privacy screen didn't seen an impost LOL ;) . On some flights we both even selected window seats one behind the other.

I'd be more worried about how you're going to keep the "mattress" on the seat after ending up on a domestic configured bird with leather seats overnight than worrying about a few hours sans face-to-face combat 😉
