Am I really out $1600 - Jet Star

^ Erm, pretty sure that footy99's post about a hypothetical pepsi debacle was a tongue in cheek reference to the OP's story... :)

Why would you waste 6 hours on the phone? If you still have the bottle of pepsi can't you take it back, get a refund, and purchase at the new price? Takes a few minutes.

(at least you can do the above with coles, safeway and aldi, I'm guessing IGA has a similar policy)

I think it was a joke, Joyce. :)

And how did YOU recognise it as an age-give-away?:)

My wife likes to see a bit of grey on the head of the pilot at the pointy end (and on her husband :) - she equates that with experience), so I can happily admit to remembering watching Graham Kennedy and Rosie Sturgess as a small child growing up in country Gippsland.

I was too young to be allowed to watch them. :)

Yup no refund. In fact no airline would give you a refund of the difference. And a LCC definitely would not.

While not a straight out refund, some airlines do honour lower fares. US airways is an example... you can change to a lower fare if it becomes available on the same flight, and have the balance converted to a voucher for future travel on US. Jetblue is an example of a LCC that has the same policy, for a $75 change fee.

In my experience, I booked online with jetstar in first day with a full payment. Then the airfare became cheaper in 2nd day online.
I called CS, but unlucky I couldn't get the different for refund. According to Jetstar's CS, it was simple that you paid under the acceptance of the condition.

He was having a go at me. That last phrase is mine exactly as posted earlier in thread.

It was quite clearly a dig at JohnK's post up thread.

Really making you suffer on this one, MT! :)

Nope :)

You'd take the victory with the pepsi at the supermarket and walk away happy you'd 'beaten' the system. Not spend 6 hours on the phone for no result.

I understand the OP's issue and their frustration. Not a lot they can do about it though.
