I just received the email that it was time to renew my ambassador membership, and there appears a few options I had not seen before. The list I got was

If you wish to renew your Ambassador status by making a purchase, choose one of the following:

  • Renew for $100 and receive 5,000 bonus points*
  • Renew for $150 and receive 15,000 bonus points*
  • Renew for $200 and receive 15,000 bonus points* plus a 10% points rebate on Reward Nights**

I got that too:
  • Renew for $200 and receive 15,000 bonus points* plus a 10% points rebate on Reward Nights**
*Bonus points are delivered via voucher code in the Ambassador Member kit

**10% points rebate: receive 10% of redeemed points back on all Reward Night redemptions for 12 months. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks after Reward Night stay for rebated points to be deposited into your account. Maximum number of points to be rebated not to exceed 100,000 points in a calendar year. Not applicable on other (non-Reward night ) redemption items.

The renewal offer seemed to come very early for me. My membership year ends 31 December. But the renewal offer came on 31 October 2011. I renewed it next day. When the Free Night Certificate arrived, it was valid only to 30 November 2012. So if you don't need to use the Certificate soon, delay your renewal date to nearer your current membership expiry date. The Free Night Certificate is valid for 12 months from its issue date (and not any time in your new membership year).

- Earn up to 3 Citi reward Points per dollar uncapped

*Terms And Conditions Apply
