Just wondering if anyone has flown recently on Qf63 the 14.5 hour all daytime flight from Syd to Jnb in J?...do they provide PJs and slippers for this daytime flight with the amenity kit? Will help me to plan and pack for our flight next Friday. :)

They provide PJ on daytime flight to Bali of 5 hours so I'd expect so.

I don’t recall getting slippers on any QF flight in J.

Just a quick piggie-back question re PJs in J.
Is there a threshold where QF don't offer PJs in business? Like flight duration? Day time or night time? Or some flight numbers do and some don't?
E.g QF 59 and QF26 (SYD to and from HND)

Day time flight from Syd/ Hnd: no PJs; overnight flight from Hnd / Syd: yes to PJs

Is that knowledge from first hand experience or is there document/web page/FAQ/other somewhere that provides the criteria for whether PJs are supplied or not?

You won't see them on short hauls like to NZ from.tge east coast or NAN or places like that (ie mostly 737/narrowbody flights)

Apparently Melb - DPS don't get them during the day but we received them last month Syd - DPS.

737? You wont get them on narrowbody intl services or domestic/trans tasman widebody services.

All other widebody intl services now get PJ’s and kits regardless of time of departure or flight duration.

Not quite correct. PJs aren't handed out on QF71/72 (PER-SIN).

Why the difference because of the planes when the destination and time is the same?

The bigger seats/beds on the wide body aircraft and the bigger/more lavs to get changed in was always my assumption. There isn’t a lot of room on a 737!

Makes sense but thought they would do it anyway as a goodwill gesture even if not used. It's why from Adelaide we now transit through Sydney for Bali even though the transfer is a pain. The Melbourne J just isn't worth the cost.
