which is what I do but apparently you can put the booking on hold and call up to pay (with an Oz CC).

I’m getting stuck with this.
I’ve priced out a route on google flights, which will take me to the AA site to pay.
When I go to pay it requires a US address for credit card, same with PayPal, which I don’t have.
If I go with AU card it redirects to the AA local site at which point I can’t recreate the flight.
Am I missing something here, any help would be appreciated.

520 SCs plus anything repositioning from Oz. eg SYD-CGK in J as CR and PC/PC+ is another 48 SC each way plus a “squiggle” (Eligible flight).

I hadn’t noticed before but this books into R Class (includes lounge access). My next CGK-DOH-Europe in a few weeks time (booked direct with QR) landed into P Class (no lounge) on the way over but QF WP gives me the same lounge in CGK and I’ll check out the WP lounge in DOH.

QR appear to have recently locked down their MMB functionality, so I’m curious to know how well AA lets you manage these booking once made?

Ignore EVERY listing for QF on Wheretocredit in LL articles. It can’t handle the “Zone based” response W2C throws up….

As mentioned earlier up thread, so long as the flights are OW marketed and operated, they’re eligible to earn points and SCs.

In the QF calc, just use QR to work out SCs if there’s no AA option. But QF status holders will earn more points with an AA code.

No.

With AA or QR flight codes in Biz they’ll post as J (or discount J) as per QFF earn tables.

Just make sure you don’t book a QR codeshare on Garuda! That will earn sweet FA!

Although I doubt the AA fare posted would pick up those options but I see them when booking direct with QR to Europe.

Thanks, I have seen those direct with QR which I will avoid. I'm about to book CGK - DOH - JFK - IAH - DOH - CGK. Great value at $4.7k

I was literally looking at them yesterday on ITA matrix for a potential trip next year.

Next step was to see if a can get the internal domestic flights to book as well (as mentioned up thread).

What is your intended itinerary? You're allowed 3 domestic segments in each direction for a total of 6, plus the 4 QR segments.

Haven’t actually decided yet!

I don’t suppose it extends south of the border, down Mexico way? That’s probably the primary destination.

So it’ll be a trade off on time and effort v maybe the easier SYD-YVR “sale” fare (next time it pops up).

Eitherway, I expect some seperate tickets on AA/AS - which are always handy for extra SCs.

It doesn't include Mexico... it's really only NYC and PHL that are the best value. You can rack up a string of SCs on the way there though by using up the domestics allowance... you can even fit in up to 2 transcons in each "direction".

Yep, that’s what’ll play with and see what’s on “special” with AA / AS. There’s often good deals to PVR - just need to search where from!

NH/UA, CGK to a couple of places on US east coast. I’ve gone for DCA.

Return: DCA-IAH-NRT-CGK 20Jan

J fare AUD4700, which from my searches was about $300 dearer than the QR/AA fares to some places like Key West.

I’m actually planning to head down to Jamaica and Cayman Is. Maybe Turks & Caicos as well.

The AA fare is about A$4100 when on Sale. Currently about $4700 to $4800 at the moment from what I could tell.
