Hope someone can shed some light for me....

I purchased 2 tickets LAX to Orlando on the 22nd January, for flight in October. I have my confirmation, and have even been back onto the site to choose my seats, but my credit card has not yet been charged.

Does anyone have any experience with buying AA tickets from their site, and how long before they charged the card?? (Amex)
BTW they did do a $0.01 charge to confirm that the card was valid.

Thanks from the "married to CPA, and checks her bank statements each week geek" :)

Have your tickets actually been "ticketed" or are they just showing as purchased?

I had this issue last week and had to ring AA and find out why they hadn't been ticketed.
There was an issue with my CC (i.e. the owner has fat fingers and put the wrong date in the purchase).

Once this was rectified they were ticketed and my CC immediately charged.

receipt confirmation has the banner - AmericanAirlines Australia

It has a Record Locator number (alpha) and I went back in a week later and it allowed me to choose my seats.

TRIP STATUS : CONFIRMED
your trip is confiremd and the reservation is guaranteed

this any help?

Not looking good, you actually need to have a ticket not just a confirmation. Suggest you ring AA and find out what is happening.

I do have a bar code on the left of the page, and one of the paragraphs reads:

Or, you can use a self service check-in machine at the airport to check-in and print your boarding pass. For faster check-in at the airport, scan the barcode in the top left hand corner of this email at any Self-Serice machine.

which is what I intended to do at LAX, just dont want to start the holiday with a NO FLY from LAX to Orlando.

Keep turning all the pages printed.....

yes I have Ticket numbers 001236642@@@@ and the next number in sequence for the 2nd ticket.

Just checked the link, and it states: STATUS: TICKETED

Interesting ... unless it states "STATUS: TICKETED - <Date>", the full process is normally not completed.

However, you do have ticket numbers. I'd call and ask.
