Hi,

My brother is a resident of the US and has been there for roughly 3 years and due to a recent divorce where he has lost entitlement to his child he has somewhat given up on life and is returning home in the hopes he can rebuild his life.

In the mix of all of this he does have an American Express Card that he was unable to maintain during his separation and has since defaulted on it.

He does have an American Express Credit Card here in AUS that he left open before he departed.

What implications will this have on him since American Express is an international company?

The American Express country divisions are managed separately. If he has an existing card, and has kept it in good order, the overseas change is unlikely to affect it.

It was a card that he maintained before he left, it has no yearly annual fee so there was never that to worry about.

He intends to use his AU card when he returns as he will need it to assist him in some of the basics until he can get a job, we will ultimately support him somewhat but it will just allow him some flexibility.

Heres to hoping it won't impact too much if any.
