American Express Forex Tx not showing pending

I avoid using my Amex Card overseas due to Forex surcharges. Anyway, but had no choice when settling a bill at the hotel in Fiji yesterday when Fiji Westpac POS either didn't play nicely with as it apparently couldn't reach Bendigo, even though we've used it elsewhere in Fiji with no problems. Anyway, I paid with Amex, and am wondering where the Pending Transaction is. The American Express website says it won't show as pending as it was a Foreign Chip and PIN Tx. On that basis, how long should it take to appear?

Usually 48 - 72 hrs in my experience. It will show up eventually.

Had a similar situation recently, however was in Australia and performed an overseas transaction.

Transaction was nowhere to be seen, nor had the available balance dropped.

Asked chat what was going on, their reply was this is normal for foreign transactions: they could see it, however it takes a few days to appear on the statement.
