i wish to do a global transfer to NZ. first got told that i needed to close one of my Australian amex cards. I did that and now they tell me im only allowed to have 2 lending products with amex in total so i need to close another card before they can accept my application. what are the total amount of amex issued credit cards one is allowed to hold in NZ and Australia or world wide? is there a set rule and does it matter per country or is it collective or it seems to depend on the individuals financial standing? can i reinstate a card once its been closed and the global transfer been completed? does New Zealand have an Amex referral program too? if so anyone with the airpoints nzd no annual fee amex can they pm their referral link please? anyone done a global transfer to NZ, UK, Thailand or US did you have to show proof of local income or just transfer card from home country?

thanks for that. it is contrary to what I have read online on their amex global transfer page, it says you dont have to close your account, but im told otherwise on the phone and that im only allowed to have 2 amex issued credit cards and one charge. thus they've got my arm twisted and I have to close down another Au card. i wish i could avoid it. i even suggested lowering the credit limit on one of my cards but they wont budge they say im only allowed to have 2 lending products in total wordwide lol. they didn't even known i had another amex in Europe that i closed. thus ive closed 2 and 1 more to go.
