Hi all, was hoping to get some opinions on the complimentary travel insurance that comes with this card.
I have read the terms and conditions, and understand that it is activated by purchasing the 'full fare' on the AE card.
This would presumably mean the departing and returning flights.
But then do all other expenses related to the trip need to be paid through the AE card to be covered? For instance if I paid for the hotel through a Bankwest Platinum card (as there is no surcharge on foreign transactions), would this be covered by the AE policy if something were to happen?

Cheers!

i have made a claim through ACE and they never asked me for information about my stay or accommodation. I provided them with the travel agent details for payment confirmation I think and the claim went through perfectly fine.
