Hi all,

It will get be FF points...so some relevant to AFF thread.

Anyways I normally use my trusty 28 degrees card....BUT

Global E Shop has $40 off shipping if AE card used.

So my question is if the Shipping cost is $42 and I pay it via Westpac AE card...what will it cost me in FEES?
Foreign currency fee and Westpac fee about 1.5% each.....is there not a $5 flat fee on top?

Total?

Regards

Amex on Westpac Earth is 3.5% and no flat fee. I found out the hard way when my secondary cardholder decided to buy something from Amazon US.

No thanks.
28 degrees or Citi select for that purchase.
Losing too much without a good outcome on Westpac!

Without knowing the cost of the item it's not really a question we can answer.

In a nutshell though, if the WBC forex is more than $40, then you're going to be better off using your 28 degrees card. If not, then you're better off using that.

Of course, i'd just look elsewhere that shipped the same item for less, or, use a USA Mail forwarder (many that have preferential rate deals for shipping using your amex card).

There's a lot more options than Amazon, and a lot of vendors on Amazon also offer cheaper shipping for the same items.

It always pays to shop around and not just follow discounted shipping offers as they are often false economy.

I plan on paying for the item to be shipped to US forward company Global e shop. I will use the 28 degrees for this FREE ship.
To get the DISCOUNT from shipping to Australia I am required to use the AE card.....
For the item it will be $40-50 shipping from their calculator.
Therefore using the AE card will reduce shipping to 0-$10 plus AE fee $5 which is cheaper than 28 degrees plus shipping $40!

I therefore was checking Westpac AE is about 3.5% with any further fine print on $40-$50 that I will use it for.
