I tried my amex at the store in Bourke Street near hardware lane. It worked without needing a pin or signature on one of the grey slide down at the side terminals.

used my amex at Caneland in mackay i acutally required a pin for that which was strange as my mastercard didnt, however i went to the maccas near mount pleasant and i didnt need a pin or anything just swipe and go

never had an issue with the staff telling me i cant use my card here usually they just enable the pin pad and then turn around and get my food

I was up moving house this weekend at 6.00am and very hungry....went to maccas and it works below $35, no issues. Swip and eat. Sadly i was still hungry after wards though....

It does get a bit inconvenient if you rely on receipts for statement reconciliation or for charging to expense accounts (although who eats Maccas on the company account?)

I have received receipts even when not entering the PIN.

And I don't charge it to a company account, but it is used for tax deductions and salary packaging :)
