Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

Does centurion still over the concierge service. I use to use for tickets a fair amount or restuarant bookings. I put my centurion EOI in a few months ago online via chat and didnt get a response. I am coming up to 1 year anniversary and we put 60-100k a month through it. Could be more but they had a limit placed after we were doing 180k a month but making payments all the time.

Hope I can get it before my trip to HBS in May, it is a dream come true moment.

If I could make two of my dreams come true simultaneously, it would be a great gift.

Hahaha

Keep working, need to get back to work.

Very good man, it is nice to see you get the card, it makes you a wonderful day - Amex recognizes you as great and important customers, and it is a type of recognition of business success as well. Well done!!
Which program? I'm there for leading professional services firms

Congrats!!

What sort of stats did you do on the card if you’re happy to share (monthly spend, years on Amex plat etc). Also did you request it or were offered
Thanks
Plat since 2019. Back then around 80-90k/month, this calendar year around 200-250k/month.

I submitted an EOI about 2 months ago and another one a year ago

Decent spend. I’ve only been around 80-90k, we did do around 180k a month but they did a review and our limit went back to around 30k which hurts.

What were the benefits they listed to. Be interested to see if much has changed, I wish for the concierge to come back to platinum and probably the only thing worth going centurion now for.

Never been reviewed

What did you do to trigger a review?

I went through an extremely thorough AML process recently. I don’t suppose that qualifies.

I've contemplated Centurion in the past (when the benefits were significantly better). I can't see the reason for getting one now. What am I missing?

What am I missing?

Extra 0.25 MR per dollar - if you're spending 250k/month, Cent will earn an extra 750k MR over the course of a year compared with the Plat.

Using those extra MR to "cover charges with points" they are worth $3750, subsidising the annual fee significantly. Obviously the 750k MR would be worth more transferred to partners, but if you're earning 7.5m points per year I imagine using them all might be a struggle

not really :p

Funny how, if you're keeping the MR in the Amex Australia ecosystem, it isn't some wildly impossible amount of points to use due to the rubbish transfer ratios.

That 7.5mil becomes 2.5mil when transferred to SQ, for example. And that's only 8 J return trips to Europe/NA at ~150K one way (ie one family of four twice per year).

If you value each return ticket at $10K, it's only a 2.6% return on spend as well. If you'd only ever pay, say, $5K for the tickets paying out of pocket, you're now down to a 1.3% return on spend.

Welcome!

Did they waive your joining fee?
no luck with waiving the J.F
they said its only done if you've been a centurion member in other regions and are transferring to AU

card should arrive in a few days :D

Can I ask if your spend was on a personal Plat or a business Plat?
