AMEX Centurion

I used to have a Centurion in Uk but when I moved to Australia I downgraded to the platinum and get my limit of 1.5 points on the charge and credit cards for $900. If you use the points for flights it really is a bonus. I must admit I've been ridiculing the cost of Centurion card over here compared to UK but the points are way better than in the UK; it was 1.5 per GBP spent over here it's 1.5 per A$ even taking into account the record Au$ exchange rate that's still fairly generous. Still say the Platinum card is the best value if you just use it to get the points. All that waffle about we can get you tickets for the best shows & sporting events etc is a joke. All they do is ring up some tout (scalper) and charge you ridiculous amounts for the privilege.

I'm in agreement with those views. The Platinum card becomes even more attractive with discounting of the annual fee. That cost for the Centurion is prohibitive and unless I won lotto, I cant be convinced of parting with my hard-earned dollars.

Is it possible to be invited if you have 'Bank' branded Amex eg NAB or does it have to be soley a Amex branded card??

cheers
Steve

Solely american express amex only.

Thanks, I thought this was the case thats partly why i've gone back to the solely branded amex.
My QF Ultimate Card should arrive sometime this week so see what happens

cheers

Hi Everyone, interesting post I would like to make sure that if you have Amex Centurion that you do indeed get QANTAS Platinum as Foreigner had written in the post !! That is awesome if true!Look forward to replies

I think Foreigner was referring to the AMEX Plat charge card in his post and comparing the two levels of membership. You don’t get a QF Platinum FF membership with the Centurion card.
