Hey Crew,

A family member of mine has an essentials card with Amex, however, due to a recent bill that ended up being default listed on her credit report I am wondering how this will impact her with American Express.

The terms of the contract as far as I can see is that they can cancel your card at any time due to credit worthiness.

Has anyone encountered this and what's the processes behind that?

We are hoping to rectify the issue but we'd like to hear if anyone else has had any issues around this?

Amex do a 'soft' credit check every month on my account (doesn't count as check that will adversely affect your credit rating but does show up on veda). I suspect they are looking for this type of thing but I'd be surprised if they cancelled for a single default assuming the Amex account had otherwise been in good order and the spending limits are not very high.
