AMEX four digit number next to the name

Does anyone else have an Amex Credit Card that has the embossed numbers in the bottom right hand corner? I'm sure that the credit cards are produced seperately to the charge cards (at least they used to be).

No, not on my plat credit card, nor my green charge.

Used the concierge service and ask them to check with AMEX...

They came back to me and advised that it is a serial number of the card...and is only applicable to those cards issued in Australia.

I think Concierge Service is incorrect.
I have a Plat Charge and a Gold charge, they both have the same embossed number on the bottom right of the card, which is incidentally the same number as below.

(Aside, my Gold charge was first issued many eons ago, and has always had the same number. My Plat charge is much more recent.)

It's embossed in the same palce on my personal Gold Charge card (5007) ... but not my associated Platinum Credit Card.

I wonder what serfty and I have in common?

My Plat credit does not have this number.

Actually, the embossed number being discussed is on the same horizontal line as my name ...

The number appears on my personal charge cards but not on my business charge card.

I missed this post earlier.

As stated mine is on the Platinum Charge Card and the number is also 5007.

That makes serfty, straitman and me with the same number.
The plot thickens.

Also, forgot to add that my Plat Charge A/C card has the same number.

I think AMEX is secretly giving ALL AFF members the same number so they can target us with discounted SR itinerary's which we will put on our cards thus earning them more money.

Haha...or banning us for any eligible promotions... knowing that AFF members will usually make more points than the money AMEX makes... remember those members who earned >1m points about 2 years ago...

Another Plat Charge here with 5007. Does anyone actually have a number which is not 5007?

See post #27. It's a different number. The only different one so far.

We've ascertained it's mostly PLAT charges with this number,
how many of us who have this spe-shul number
have previously held
or currently also hold
a Gold charge? (just a theory....)

I have a confession to make... I changed my last digit from 7 to 0 (Not knowing what that number represents before)... so far we are all 5007.

It's whether you have the 5007 number or not...

My 2009 plat charge and a cent i saw today have "5007" on them.
