I called Amex 2 days ago to query adding an additional cardholder to my newly opened Platinum charge account and was proactively offered 10,000 MR points to add a card which I agreed to. Points were in my account before the call was ended.

I recently opened an Ultimate card, and while setting up the account she offered me the 5000 unprompted.

I added my partner, no proof of ID requested, just DOB.

Points were in there by the time I downloaded the app and registered the card.

I asked her several times to confirm there was no ongoing fee ever and she confirmed yes ( for Ultimate).

The Amex Edge and Explorer cards allow for 4 free additional card holders each. Anyone have experience in getting more than 4 additional cards for these cards? Or is 4 the absolute hard limit?!



Was just told 8-10 weeks by the phone rep.

The business cards allow up to 99 supps from memory. Personal cap at 4 + AC, you can get more at a cost I believe.

For the plat charge what Sudoer said is correct. I added the sup this morning and got the points instantly and it said you can have four sups for free then any more are $700 extra each.

I received the offer of 10k QF points on my Amex card and 10k MR points on my platinum reserve card. My reading of the T&Cs implied I'd only get it for the first additional supp card across all my accounts. Went for the QF points.

You do need to supply an Australian phone number, but that's it. Could try just inputting your own number. No ID required. Click through and see what the questions they ask. You can always back out.
