Hi All,

Hopefully someone can help me out here. I spend approx $30000 a year on my AMEX. I currently have the EDGE Plat CC. Was thinking about the reserve at $349/year. Any real benefits I will see going from edge to reserve? If it helps I spend approx $100/week in coles and $90/week in petrol.

Thanks,
K.

k3nnis,

I probably spend a similar amount to you and I toyed with the idea recently but couldn't really justify the increase in cost.

While it appears it runs at 1.5pts/$1 as you know the supermarket and petrol bonii really get the edge card chugging along.

I would suggest being as smart as possible when using the edge card... i.e: Shop at BP till end of March then switch to Woolworths Petrol and double dip for QFF, Use EDR card for extra QFF points at Woolies etc

Thanks for your comments. Where do you get your FF points mainly from? CC spend or flying? For me it would be from CC. Thanks for the tip. Can I use EDR at caltex woolworths stations? Reason I don't really use QF is due to the burn rates for an award flight compared to VS and SQ.

Thanks,
K.

I would say 80% of my points come from CC. I then use those points to fly so therefore very rarely earn points on flight.

I think you can use at Caltex Woolworths, as long as they ask you for an EDR you should be ok. Just remember to switch from discount to points on your EDR account. I think it works out to be 2 MR points and 1 QFF points over $30. Been a while as I've been hitting BP pretty hard :D

I understand what your saying with QFF points, I'm a VA fan to be honest but hey.. free points are...free points.

I see. I've used BP only twice so far. I can only fill up so much fuel each week lol.
