Just wondering if I am an existing Amex holder and change to AP, will I still get the 120k points?
Nope you have to wait the 18 months before you could get the next lot of bonus points.

I currently pay $349 to renew Plat status each year - Silver status for free with no room upgrade and no breakfast will cost me more than the total $1,450 ann fee!
One thing I was unaware of with the Platinum, but probably makes me even more likely to apply, despite the fee hike, is that I didn't know that all platinum card holders could access Priority Pass lounges with a guest - I understood this was limited to the primary card holder and one supplementary card holder, but AMEX told me last night that every supplementary card holder has their own access and can bring a guest - that makes it extra appealing for my circumstances!

Can confirm that you can bring a total of 4 people into airport lounge where PP is accepted. Have did this two years ago without a problem. Hope that helps.
Interesting! The amex rep I spoke to was very clear that every card member can access and each one can bring a guest - I gave her my situation (6 guests - 2 supp cards) and she said we would all be allowed access. It does seem a bit too good to be true though...

Gives me option to select an explorer card to sign up for the subscription. Whether you can access that screen without platinum charge, or if it actually works after signing up, is a different matter and something I don’t know the answer toWait are you saying the AFR is free for Amex Explorer?
I do not know how I ever ended up Accor Plat - may have been a former CC but certainly not through stays with Accor - but I now pay $349 to renew Plat each year with 1 x FREE night included / room upgrade if available / Exec Lounge access / FREE breakfast. Silver status gives you none of these.Curious on the comments Re Accor plus silver. Are you only after the free night, but want lounge/breakfast with it? HH Gold (but no free night) isn’t appealing?

I spend 20+ nts in Sofitel Hyland Shanghai each year - I email Reservations Manager direct and she always allocates me CHEAPEST room rate and UPGRADES me to Junior Suite / Prestige Suite with Exec Lounge access and full breakfast - easily $100+ vale per night - in my situation the addition of Accor Silver is valueless.
