(This offer does not replace current offer of 80k bonus MR points as this is an one-off.)
Card's Annual Fee - $1,450.
Maximum amount of supplementary cards - up to 4 (somehow I've doubled this through various errors on Amex's part)
Key Benefits
- Complimentary Priority Pass (with guesting rights) for you and a supplementary cardholder.
- $450 Travel Credit (an additional $400 if you also sign up for the Platinum Reserve card which is a freebie with the Platinum Card)
- 100k bonus points (keep in mind it's 2:1 transfer rate to most partners now which has taken the shine off this superb card)
- Access to the Fine Hotels and Resorts program: supposedly saves you up to $700 per trip/stay though that's arguable when you're paying a higher rate than non-FHR bookings and/or if you have status.
- Complimentary AFR subscription for yourself and all supplementary cardholders - that's $628 per year per person. Would've been nice if that can be substitute with SMH/The Age.
- Platinum Concierge: organise your travel and dining through them. One of my recent experience is tyring to book the Quay, would've been a 3 months wait if I book direct but managed to secure a spot with a week's notice.
- Complimentary travel insurance: had to make couple of claims over the years, the process is relatively painless and quick. Different story though when I tried to make a claim on a severely dented Rimowa suitcase...
- 24/7 Card services: this doesn't just provide card/account inquiry service but it also provides assistance services. For example, had a breakdown recently on a card I thought that can do without roadside assistance, called them up and a nice fella from NRMA came to my rescue in no time. Or the other time when my lovely neighbour drove his B-Double home, knocked them my power lines (oops) and they sorted me out quickly with a sparkie.
