AMEX Platinum Charge Benefits - Q&A

Received an email offering EY Gold status today, if I was to book a flight with them in J/F by some date.

I didn't bother reading into it further but this might be worth it to some people I guess...

They must be enhancing our benefits again!

Would someone be kind enough to post the list of bonus points providers here ?
I'm toying with the idea of getting this card again.
MTIA.

You mean these?
3 x points & restaurants
2 x points travel related services
1 x everything else
.5 x utilities...

Thanks for swift reply kd.
In past years there was a list of establishments eg restaurants, high end stores and hotels who were specifically bonus points partners for the Platinum card, for a set duration of time, something like 6 - 9 months.
At one stage Bang & Olufsen earned 10 bonus points per dollar for example.
I am interested to know which establishments are on the current list.
I'm now beginning to think there are no Platinum bonus partners any more.

It would seem that the bonus points partners don't exist or at least don't offer the same perks anymore. These are directly from the platinum shopping page. i've bolded the relevant areas there are a few more, but more of the same generic perks.. "VIP treatment... "whatever that means.... extra smiles perhaps.

I remember the bonus points. When I first signed up there was a bonus with air Asia x10. I think I picked up about 40,000 or so points organising flights for a Indonesian surf trip. I think they still do them from time to time but not in the way they did. If I get time today I'll have a quick scan looking for anything.

Thanks for the list kd.
Doesn't sound real exciting so far.
Back when I had the card one of the offers was buy a Zegna suit full price, get a Zegna shirt or something like that.
So at that stage there were special shopping offers as well as bonus points on offer through different establishments.

mlob, appreciate your reply.
I remember the AirAsia offer too now,
though I didn't make use of it (not into LCC & AirAsia).

I seem to recall that the bonus providers were only displayed in the Benefits section of the super - ultra - special dedicated Plat log-in.

Does anyone have any trouble getting into the Platinum Benefits Directory?

Also, to book with FHR do you just called up Platinum Travel to find the rates?

I'm having the same problem too. After a couple of phone calls, it's been "escalated" but no resolution yet. The 80,000 points for the inconvenience was a nice touch though.

At times yes, find a page refresh fixes it most times.

Yep. Can also look them up online via travel once logged in however it doesn't show all room types. As a guide the room rates are the same as the hotel's BAR rate.

is your plat card linked in an account with other cards?

It is but they're all plat cards (business ones). I login into the Benefits Directory page but it keeps coming up with "no eligible cards linked to this account".

80k for the inconvenience, are you serious!?

Well I called twice, was promised a call back twice which didn't happen. Third time around I complained that not only was I not getting online access to the advertised benefits, but I was getting the cold shoulder from "customer service". I didn't ask for compensation, it was just offered (which I gratefully accepted) although I did think it was a bit over the top (I do have nearly a dozen plat business cards though). My issue is still not fixed although they offered to do any sign ons over the phone if needed. Incidentally, I was looking to see whether the Accor Plus no longer being offered also meant that Accor Platinum was also gone.

Accor Plus is now showing as open to enrolment or renewals to 31 March 2016 (was September 2015). Accor Platinum as always appears ongoing.
