Hi All,

I have an Amex Premium Card where if I purchase QF tickets thru QF merchant account, ie. direct with QF, I will receive two complimentary Qantas Club invitations. On the Amex website it also states that I may also receive these invitations if the QF tickets are purchased through selected Travel Agents. Does anyone know who these TAs are?

Cheers and thanks. :)

I'm guessing that you mean the Qantas Premium Card? https://www.americanexpress.com/au/content/frequent-flyer-cards/qantas-premium-card/

If so, they likely mean that certain TAs can have the airline charge your card directly, and reimburse their commission or incentive payment - as opposed to you paying the TA, who then pay the airline. Most of us here prefer to handle our own bookings (especially when there are bonus points to be earned by booking with the airline directly), so we may not be able to give you a comprehensive list of TAs that can do this. If you have a different card type (eg Plat Charge), the list of TAs that qualify for te 2pts/$1 'travel' bonus can be found here: https://www.americanexpress.com/australia/pdfs/terms-and-conditions-travel-merchants.pdf :)

I can't see a problem in getting the bonus if the TA has QF process the Credit Card. That's what would happen most of the time anyway, so shouldn't be an issue.

Worth clarifying with them first, just to be sure.

This card is now closed as they would not waive the $195 annual fee for the 3rd or 4th time.

I have been trying to get the 2 Qantas complimentary invitations from 2012 and I still do not have them. I am not letting go as it is the principle not the 2 Qantas complimentary invitations.

I have the Qantas American Express Premium Card, which gives you one bonus point per AUD when you book with Qantas. Have received bonus points with bookings with Qantas Aucstralia, for flights, gift vouchers etc. Have just made a booking with Qantas New Zealand for one way TT, and haven't got any bonus points. Would I be right in assuming you don't get points for booking with an overseas Qantas entity; or should I follow this up with Amex for the bonus points? Thanks.

Sorry ric_melb.

No bonus points for overseas Qantas bookings. I used to book airfares ex-SIN on this card and received the normal 1.25 QFF points only.

Thanks John, good to have my suspicions confirmed. In the scheme of things I was happy with the fare I got.
