Hi. I'm looking at booking some RTW reward tickets to Europe via Tokyo and Paris this June, and have found ok options to Tokyo (NRT), stay a few days, and then on the day we want to leave, there are flights to Helsinki, and then there are options to Paris. My concern is that the flight from Tokyo to Helsinki is actually two flights. First is Haneda-Nagoya 19:55 - 20:55 JL209, followed by Nagoya-Helsinki AY80 leaving at 22:50 and arriving at 05:55. I then have to book a separate sector from Helsinki to Paris (options are departing at 7:35, 12:15, 16:05).
My question is - is the 2 hours (just shy) at Nagoya enough to connect ? What happens if that flight is delayed, and I miss the Finnair flight ? Does the rest of the itinerary stay, or get canned ? Would they accomodate on another flight ? I have a few nights planned in Paris before onward journey.
Another option is I book Tokyo-Nagoya in the morning as one sector, and then Nagoya-CDG as another. The issue with this is that there are not may flights between Haneda and Nagoya. One at 8am, and then the one at 19:55. There is one at 10:30is from Narita, but I would rather not have to go out to Narita.
What are people's throughts ? Risk the evening flight via Nagoya, or try for something else ?

If you’re staying few days in Japan at the start, you could make your way to Nagoya by Shinkansen. (Under 2h)

Spend the last night of your Japan visit in Nagoya and then take the Nagoya to Helsinki flight.

So given that you're already out and about in tokyo. Your other option is to Shinkansen to Nagoya (2.5h or so) hop out have some lunch or afternoon bites (i recommend the chicken wings) then depart from NGO that way.

In terms of your original plans, 2h should be more than enough to transfer usually. It's rare for too many disruption in the NGO area but its always possible. In your case you'd be protected as its on one ticket due to the delay although if its delayed long enough, they might just reroute you HND > HEL, HND > KIX > HEL.

The reason for the lack of flights between Tokyo and Nagoya is because that distance is better suited for shinkansen than flying. Its generally faster and smoother door to door on the train.
