Biggest offer we've seen in a while!

Receive 100,000 bonus Qantas Points when you apply by 2 April 2024, are approved and spend $3,000 in the first 3 months (new Card Members only - you must not have held an Amex card over the past 18 months).

This is Amex's top Qantas card and includes benefits like:
- a $450 Qantas Travel Credit each year that offsets the $450 annual fee
- a very high earn rate of 1.25 Qantas Points per $1 spent on everyday purchases
- two Qantas lounge passes each year
- two Amex lounge passes each year (Syd & Mel international terminals)
- Qantas Wine premium membership
- domestic and international travel insurance
- up to 4 free additional cards for family or friends.

I'll receive 40k Qantas Points if you're successful - and would be extremely grateful!

Here's my referral link:

Thank you!

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier when I posted this in the Amex forum (happy for my post to be deleted as it isn't a 'promotion' as such ... I think)

I'll throw my link out there as well in case anyone is keen, with thanks!

Also throwing my link in ring, too;

Qantas Ultimate - 100,000 QFF Points

The $450 annual fee is offset by the $450 Qantas credit you receive, so it's a nice haul of sign up points, once you've met eligible spend.

One of the reasons I've kept this card so long, is for the "Amex Offers". According to my Amex Offers dashboard, I've saved $1,821.49 (through the cashbacks) over the years - most recently $100 from Mycar, $80 from Hyatt, $60 from Hilton, $100 from Qantas Hotels . . .

I've considered cancelling it over the years (sitting it out, and then signing up for the next bonus), but Amex always throw enough points at me to reconsider, when I threaten to leave (there's a separate thread for that . . .)

Thanks for starting the thread @Doctore1003! As with everyone else, would greatly appreciate anyone using our referral link for this big offer.

Some fast points about the card from past offers:
  • This card has a large $450 annual fee. This is somewhat offset by the $450 qantas travel credit, as well as regular cashback promotions – often discussed here on AFF (be sure to subscribe to the thread so you don’t miss these offers).
  • The $450 credit is applied retrospectively to your account a few days after you select to use it when making a qantas booking through amex travel. Late last year, mine was made available to use about a week after the account was activated.
  • When I last applied, the card had a $65k minimum income and 3k minimum credit limit. In recent experience, the selection of a limit appears comes late in the application, after your credit check is done. The credit limit you receive is however reported to credit reporting bodies alongside other regular account information when the card is open.
  • Amex usually award bonus points as soon as you hit the spend criteria, even in the first month. However, the first statement period is usually an obscure length so if you are seeking the bonus points quickly, it may be worth completing the minimum spend of $3000 as soon as possible on receiving the card. Alternatively, if you want to delay it for points club timing, it’s important to keep this in mind.
  • Amex regularly offer bonus points for adding supplementary/additional cardholders. It could be worth not adding any extra cardholders in your initial application, but instead waiting a few months for a special offer. I received an offer about 2 months after opening my card late last year and received 5000 points after requesting an additional card for Mrs Excel.
Mrs Excel and I have held this card 5 times between ourselves. I signed up during the 80k promo using a referral link late last year, and am glad that the opportunity is now there for people to receive an increased amount of 100k.

We’d be tremendously grateful if anyone used our sign-up link and helped us towards our next holiday. If our link is used up, we’ll message a mod to remove it from this post to ensure that the referral love is shared around with other members.

This is a great card.

I've saved $440 through the cashback offers in the last 18 months.

Adding my link for those eligible:

A bit late to the party, throwing my link here, too:

Since everyone has been talking about the benefits of this card, I will just mention a small problem with this card:
The $450 travel credit can only be used in AMEX Travel and the flight has to be a Qantas flight.
Even if your booking is less than $450, the entire $450 will be redeemed.
Last time I booked 4 tickets ($600 in total) via AMEX travel in order to use up the travel credit, in the meantime the price if I booked via Qantas would have been $560, so it's slightly more expensive if you book via AMEX travel but overall not too bad.

Thanks everyone for the heads up with this offer.
I was going to post mine here, but it says that the "link expired" when I try to open it.
What does this mean?

Bumping thread, as this offer has appeared now for me when I log into Amex online.

I've had the Qantas Ultimate Amex since 2019, and referred a work colleague shortly thereafter - who two weeks ago had to claim on the included insurance for an emergency appendectomy for her 18y.o. son in Bali. This included insurance is a very valuable feature of the card, and you know the tag-line: don't leave home without it!

Would love someone to use my referral link before 2 April 2024 to earn me 40k QFF - and helping me to retain Points Club Plus come end of July. As others have stated, you earn a bonus 100K Qantas frequent flyer points if approved and spend $3k within the first 3 months - see the website for more information. The $450 annual fee for this card is more than made up for in special Amex Offers received throughout the year and the Qantas flight credit - but of you feel this particular card doesn't suit, follow through the link to see other card options with bonus points available - including The American Express Qantas Business Rewards Card with 150,000 Qantas points!

Glad to hear about a positive insurance experience. Thanks for sharing.

Important: 20k Extra Qantas points
Qantas have just announced one of their semi-regular promotions where if you haven't held a Qantas points earning card in the last 12 months, you can get an extra 20k points by registering on this portal before the first points from any new card sweep to your Qantas account.

In at least one instance of a similar past promotion:
  • Qantas did not connect where you apply for a card with this promo. In other words, you should register for this promo even if you are applying via a referral link, as the systems may not track whether you applied for the card via the Qantas website, and you may still get the 20k bonus if using a referral link from this thread.
  • The system did not necessarily exclude people who had earned points from a qf card in the last 12 months... which meant a few bonus points ;)
So, you may wish to
1. Register here for the 20k bonus offer
2. Come back to this thread and select a referral link from a post in this thread

This ensures a friend on AFF gets a referral bonus instead of amex paying Qantas a commission per applicant.

Throwing my hat in the ring if anyone is after a referral link for this card.

If you apply by 2 April 2024, are approved and spend $3,000 within the first 3 months, you get 100,000 QFF points. I will get 40,000 QFF points if you are approved.

If anyone is looking for a referral link as well for the Qantas American Express Ultimate Card. here is one. Obviously I'll get 40,000 and you will get 100,000 if you have applied and are approved by April 2.

Have had this car for just over four years and can't state how good the customer service at AMEX. They are always very helpful and put the customer first. Any time I have been overcharged I've had a credit on my account right away. Much better than some other banks that stuff around for weeks while they "investigate".

The card also has really useful travel insurance and obviously great travel perks too.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

A quick bump on this thread with a note: you can currently apply for an additional cardholder to receive an additional 15k bonus points.

Reports on ozbargain seem to suggest you would earn the points even if you already have an existing additional cardholder but the t&c's are slightly vague on the topic. I'll be giving it a go later today.

The additional cardholder offer appears to be available until 11 April so there's still time to apply selecting and using a referral link from a friendly fellow AFF member above (before April 2), and then applying for the additional cardholder using the below link after your primary card is approved and activated (eg. Not during your initial application).

Hope this is helpful to someone!

Appreciate if anyone choses to apply via my link for the QF Ultimate! Just getting back in the game after ages :)
