Same with FF points. Do a family transfer while possible before the account is closed and all points evaporate.
Interesting to see comment that NAB is better for retirees, that is the bank which knocked me back as detailed previously.
As noted, it is important for everyone to have a CC individually. The credit limit is less important as can load up with cash for a large upcoming purchase.
That said, be careful when heading overseas. Previously, 28 degrees Latitude mastercard allowed this. Now a cash load up is reversed almost immediately so can find the card is surprisingly empty when OS.
Hiring a car OS, rather than an authority being placed on the credit card, the whole excess for damages was charged immediately at pickup, $5000! Wiped out the credit completely for the card for the rest of the holiday and took weeks to be refunded.
Luckily had another card and needless to say won’t use that company again. That isn’t unique though. Check when booking. Like the “free cancellation” which often isn’t, it’s credit to use in the same company if you happen to use them again.
