Even with the cashbacks promotions the game has changed. It used to be fun. Now it's stressful because everyone tries to milk to the fullest.

I only have 1 Amex card. I quickly changed plans to get to Myer yesterday before it goes out of control but can't get to a Westfield until tomorrow.

I hear this JohnK. There is a certain amount of stress involved. But there is also still some fun and satisfaction too.

I'm concerned that there's a holding cost with so many gift cards. In some cases, it might be better to have the money on a mortgage - particularly if interest rates rise.

As long as you activate the offer before it reaches capacity, you have until the end of the promotional period to make the spend.

Registering is becoming quite the challenge now, especially where credits for WOW or CM cards can be obtained and obviously the eftpos card deals. The current Westfield and Myer deals are already fully subscribed only two days after going live. This suggests that discounted fuel/food are becoming important in peoples finances. The action is fiercest on Ozbargain. There's some serious players there.

I suggest you just relax. All these deals have plenty of time to be redeemed. There is no way with Xmas coming on that stores will not have ample Gift Cards to sell.

Indeed why rush? I will deliberately redeem some in my next statement period to spread the dates that I have to pay Amex for them.

The only thing that you need to b quick on is activating the promo.

The deals appear on Amexconmect from 3am onwards, forumninja on OzB generally post the links from 4:30am onwards so there's a 90 minutes gap before the the rest of the tribe having a crack at it. It's not that difficult to work out the manual links. Check the old ones and there's a pattern...it's quite obvious.

The deals are released on Tuesday to Thursday, targeted Plat and Cent offers excepted as they are random.

Did anyone use shop small and receive credits at Cellarbrations Chelsea, Vic (statement shows as Escott & Sons). It is the only one I still have outstanding. I purchased last Saturday, other credits from purchases made as late as Tues have appeared. These are on AMEX issued cards, I realise bank issued takes a little longer.

If I have made an error I still had an enjoyable month. This was my first serious attempt at Shop Small, managed 96 eligible shops across 13 cards, including getting paid to visit the dentist! Can't wait until next time.
