I'm trying to get my amex rewards points into my us air account because the delta flights are usually late and also on small aircraft. What is the best way for me to book a us air flight? Thanks in advance.

Transfer to SPG and then over to US Airways.

Amex to SPG transfers at 2:1, and then at 1:1 from SPG to US Airways + a 25% bonus for every 20,000 you transfer. So if you transferred 80,000 Amex MR you would end up with 50,000 USDM.

It would be 48,000 in the US Air account correct?

I wonder how much it would be to simply pay with the cc, then use the points to pay down the balance.

Sorry, 25% bonus... a bonus 5,000 points for every 20,000 transferred.

It's 2:1 when paying down your amex card using points.

Because of what they were charging me in points plus the $29 fee at us air, it was a better deal to pay with cash and then pay down the card.
