Amex Travel refund

Platinum Card holder here. I booked a FHR hotel using Amex Travel but had to cancel due to change in dates.

The booking was fully refundable but surprised to see that they take up to 90 days(!) for refund! I had to rebook and was charged the full amount again.

What is your experience with Amex travel refunds? Does it really take 90 days?

They wouldn't give me a refund. Said it was a one time only use, even if cancelled.

I can't recall the exact time frame. It wasn't 90 days, but it wasn't terribly quick either. Perhaps 21 day?

I think you are talking about the travel credit, whereas the op seems to be talking about a booking in general

Yup, booked using Platinum Card - not the travel credit. 21 days still sound like painfully long!
