From the Strayan:

“ Hilton will vacate the landmark tower when its management agreement expires in June next year, bringing to an end more than 40 years at the Victoria Square site. Amora, which owns and operates three hotels in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, will take over management of the hotel, which it plans to upgrade into a luxury five-star offering.”

Can’t say I’m sorry to see the Hilton Adelaide leave the group.

They could have rebadged it a Hampton Inn…😁

Don’t recall seeing any new Hilton branded hotels going to ADL. Not even a DT…?

I was living in Adelaide when the Hilton Adelaide opened as the first 5* hotel in Adelaide. Have been to many events there over the years including weddings etc. Have also stayed there quite a few times and agree it is very tired now and needs a major makeover.

Sad though another Australian city will lose a Hilton following in Brisbane's footsteps.

With the redevelopment of Central Market I thought it would be a good opportunity to knock down and rebuild the Hilton. Obviously this is not gonna to happen.

Yet, SYD is getting a Waldorf! I meant to post a pic of the building under construction. I was down at the Opera House on the weekend, the building is very much in a “Dress circle” position.

I hope their salad is as good! 😂

One of Adelaide’s most famous luxury hotels, the Hilton Adelaide, has been listed for sale for the first time in more than 30 years by private local owners, 233 Victoria Square Hotel Pty Ltd.
<snip>
The property is subject to a management agreement with Hilton Hotels of Australia Pty Ltd, with vacant possession available from 1st July 2026.

It’s really a bit of a dump these days and really won’t be sad to see it leave as they were never going to spend the money to get it up to scratch.
Obviously disappointing to lose the Hilton footprint in Adelaide but others will fill the void and there will be 3 Marriott properties in Adelaide within the next 3 years
