ANA partnership with Virgin Australia

I'm looking for HKG to either HND or NRT (redemption) on the velocity website and the only flights coming up are with SQ and go via singapore - kinda like going from Sydney to Brisbane via Melbourne - does anyone have any ideas as to how I might be able to find NH flight or if they are even offered? - thanks

Been looking for ANA rewards flight recently towards the end of the year and start of next year (330 days) and so far slim to none show as available direct from Aus. I believe ANA open up their reward inventory 355 days in advance but VA only show ANA seats 330 days...

thanks further to the above I've found availability for the next 8 days and then 4 more days for the rest of the year - is NH that stingy with reward seats or is it just not released to VA or maybe gone to NH points before we even see them?

If you look back in this thread, it's a bit of a known partner airline quirk that ANA are releasing availability very close to departure for VA, but not much else in advance

Does Velocity have grace period where you can change/cancel reward seat without penalty, i.e. the usual $60 fee?

No (and it's $35). Though some people report they are lucky enough to get it waived.

Cancellations and refunds are permitted prior to the commencement of any travel.

Cancellations must be requested at least 24 hours prior to first scheduled departure and refunds are subject to a 4,500 Points or $35 charge per guest per booking.

Refunds or re-credit are not permitted once travel has commenced.

Guests who check-in, but do not fly will not be eligible for a refund or credit.

Refund amount excludes booking and credit card fees.

No (and it's $35).
You are looking at the domestic price which only applies to VA operated domestic flights.

There is a 2nd tab on that page which is for International and Partner airlines and it's $60.

As to getting it waived I've found them to be very inflexible with the only exception being if I'm cancelling then rebooking something different on the spot they are sometime happy to waive it.

They waive for US itineraries for 24 hours...because that's a DoT regulation.

Same here - luckily I had enough points to make a separate new booking while I was on the phone before they cancelled the original

Does Velocity get assigned ANA Business Reward seats at all?
If so, how many months prior departure they usually get released?

Lot of confusion in this thread about ANA awards.

ANA release some award seats at calendar open. Often only 1 seat in J and F. These are snapped up instantly by people with other points currencies and so only scraps are available once Velocity's award calendar opens up, especially on routes to North America where demand is through the roof.

Then ANA releases some seats at the last minute, usually 14 days from departure.

Rarely is there anything released in between. Exceptions include aircraft swaps and new routes.

I assume this calendar is ANA calendar, which is 353 days or so in advance, not Velocity which is 330 days.. right?

I wish Velocity opens their calendar around the same time / 353 days in advance...

Yes, which is why Velocity gets the scraps.

I think the calendar isn't an intentional Velocity restriction, but an artefact of whichever GDS they're on? It's the same reason why several other airlines have 330-331 days.

Yes, 331 days is/was the limit for Sabre, unfortunately. Would have thought by 2024 they would be extended it to match the others.

Hopefully, they will get extended to match partners airlines calendar in the future.

How can one earn ANA miles other than full fee flying with them?
Any miles can be converted to ANA miles?

This is still a thing?
I don’t have a middle name. Surely that couldn’t be the obstacle?
