Android phones - Making group conversations with iPhones Users a Challenge

Just keep your chitchat to stuff you don’t care if the rest of the CCP knows….
I had to install it when I was working for a Chinese company a couple of years ago. I still worry that my conversations at home are being faithfully listened to. Sorry, not Wechat, that's Google that listens and then sends you ads that match your conversation. 🤣

The problem is Apple uses a different version of RCS
Actually, the problem is largely the telcos. Apple have supported RCS since iOS18, but it’s reliant on the carriers enabling support (which to date they have not). Telstra used to support it, but shut down their RCS support a while back.

Yes and to think I have bared all 24/365 since Confucius was in nappies and in 200+ visits to China I still have never been whisked aside / interrogated / incarcerated - feeling rather short changed actually

I actually wish I was in possession of some of the state secrets that some of our fellow AFFers have and are so keen on guarding

You need to get into a more interesting line of work. A CIA lawyer has more fun (ie watch the Intern! 😂).

I had this issue a year or three ago with a Punting Syndicate I'm in.

We all just moved to Whatsapp and the profits (somewhat) have been ours.💰

Could be viewed that way - UNLESS - you are doing business with Chinese and then it is ABSOLUTELY COMPULSORY PRIMARY App you cannot attempt to live without. Unless you are in that space it won’t make sense
Have done plenty of business with China and did just fine without it. YMMV.
It is like a Chinese Whatsapp.
Quite aware of what it is, just pointing out the fact that it says 3rd party no good ... but then uses a 3rd party app 🤷‍♂️

In China both WeChat and AliPay these days are classed as mega apps. In that they do payments, chat, mini-apps and lots of other things

So you're using a closed eco-system app on your iPhone, that Apple wouldn't allow others into via an API and then complain when it doesn't work with others? 🤷‍♂️
The lack of viewpoint from within the walled garden is sometimes astonishing, and also absurd how common the entire blue/green bubble issue is in the US.

I was told that and believed that once too.

No longer use it for sourcing items any more. And deleted from my phone.

If they want the business they will use Whatsapp and email etc. Depends if going direct and not through third party I.e. Alibaba (still an app tho)

YMMV
