Angry about proposed travel ban exemption for footballers

Oh no. It’s headlines here. Crouch is a free agent and playing the field trying to get a good contract. The other guy is already up on a drink driving charge. Seriously? What were they thinking.
It’s a “minor” breach and at least not COVID related........hmmmm

Makes me wonder what may go on in Grenfell Street at 5.00am?

After years and years and thousands of incidents, why do you still assume they think?
The player who won the crows Best and Fairest this year is also studying to be a Dr. So I guess that is a case of intermittent reinforcement.

Whilst it’s no doubt silly I’m not sure how or why it’s headline news. It’s not a quarantine breach or anything to do with Covid as their season is over and living in Adelaide we are free to pretty much go out wherever we want.
They should cop their whack for cocaine possession just like any other person and that will be be the end of it for Crouch. Stengle night find himself delisted though

Crouch is out of contract as well and wanting the $$. Might have trashed his brand. Cousins pretty much started that danger sign. Not Covid related of course.

Don’t think it will affect his value too much as dozens of players each year test positive to illicit substances and it’s the drug of choice for many more footballers Just a stupid think to do though

Well he might get a contract but the value will be way down. And not because of the 'alleged drug' incident.

All sporting codes are going to be very cautious about signing contracts, especially high value contracts. I suspect that match payments may be the practise for new contracts, this will cover eventualities such as have occurred this year.

It wasn't suggested it had anything to do with Covid in the media but it has appeared here. That's the only link.

Yes. No more off-topic than many other posts on this, and other, threads. 😉

Edit: Just more unfortunate stuff from the AFL world

The entitlement of these people knows no bounds... A self quarantine at home breach in WA by Jesse Hogan. At least they forced him to hotel quarantine for the rest of the 14 days.

But I bet there are a lot of locked out residents or people wanting to see family who would be quite happy to diligently home quarantine or even pay for the hotel version.

I saw this and was considering whether to post. Given the footballer wasn’t given some covid exemption upon returning home and the team was eliminated, I leaned against posting.

But it does show some of the problems of home isolation/quarantine that most of us would already be aware of.

Not sure what you mean that he "wasn't given some COVID exemption upon returning home" - the fact that he was allowed to return to WA after being out of the state is actually a COVID exemption in itself.

Ah yes, true. Apparently the WA rules applies consistent regardless of where within Australia you are coming from and whether or not you are a WA resident.

So hard to keep track of the different requirements....lol

This is becoming a reputation issue for the AFL when combined with the unpaid dancer fiasco.

The only ways to change behaviour are to turn off from watching and for the sponsors to bring pressure to bear.

nothing else will get through.

And Tasmania belongs in the same boat as WA when it comes to the border. In fact the one website lets you apply for an exemption to either state.

But at least Tasmania has a date of December 1st for a possible reopening and are a bit better at treating compassionate exemptions with compassion.
