Only one week since I made the flight bookings with QF for this event and they have already advised me of a change to flight departure time ex AKL - hopefully the last. I have booked AKL Voco (IHG).

I got a time change for the flight to AKL. And booked the Voco also 😂

Wandering around to a Gold position. HBA-AKL should still be running, and then onto Nuku'alofa. Looks like I need a Star Alliance status match soon!

Edit: Air NZ not even in my bookmarked *A airlines!

Eeek. @JessicaTam how do I go HLO to the Cook Islands with a lounge suit?
Read "dress up a little bit" in the invitation. The idea is not jeans and T-shirts. A pair of trousers and a coat (if available) has always been sufficient in the past. I only wear ties to Court and to funerals. All subject to being overruled by the organiser !

I read lounge suit. That means jacket, good trousers and probably a tie. None of which I planned to carry with me but that’s my fault for not reading the original post closely.

Fortunately, I have nights in Auckland on arrival and going back so I can probably leave the suit there while I’m in short pants and T shirt on the Cook Islands

Maybe dig that safari suit out
Me in a Safari suit is a sight that can never be unseen.

As per @CMA222's post, start with smart trousers and shirt and work from there. Jacket and tie are not obligatory. It is just about making a bit of an effort.

I have booked flights and changed the hotel where I am staying. New details are:-
Friday 7th March QF 155 Depart MEL at 1:55 pm. Arrive AKL at 7:30 pm.
Staying at The Sebel Auckland Viaduct Harbour for three nights.
Monday 10th March QF 156 Depart AKL at 3:35 pm. Arrive MEL at 5:50 pm.
I will still be QFF Platinum then, so I can guest one person into the MEL 1st class lounge if necessary— let me know if you are interested.

I think that makes 3 OWE on that flight with 4 pax, so currently ok. But good to know we have some fat in the system for any Jonny/Jenny come latelies. 👍
