Annual NZ Dinner: AKL 8 March 2025

I have spoken to the restaurant and increased the numbers to a final 28.

If anyone else would like to join us, please check with me first before making any travel arrangements.

With this many coming, do I need to get name tags?!?

Those on QF154 to MEL on Sunday 9 March will have received notification that it has been cancelled and been moved to QF152 at 0605. There are no remaining J seats on QF156 I am told. Typical QF - either you are delayed or cancelled. I have cancelled my booking and we will now not be able to attend. Good old QF - consistently hopeless.

I got that email and was able to move myself, JT+1 and Mrs L to QF156.

There are seats on QF152 if you can stomach the early start.

I'm on QF158 - very empty. Shame the EK lounge is undergoing renovations
We were going through to SYD so QF158 gets us in to MEL too late. The +1 says "no thanks" to an early departure after what could be a late evening. There was no SYD direct available in J. They "found" me one J seat on QF 156 but if the second person then travelled in whY they said the booking would be split and it was a new booking and the only whY available was fully flex and I had to pay the fare difference, because the whY seat cost was more than the J fare. The original offer of QF152 departing at 0605 had us sitting in MEL for 9 hours before we could get a J seat to SYD. That is the level of Platinum service QF considers acceptable. Last straw for me with QF. Cathay Pacific and JAL from now on, so NZ will be out.

That is rubbish! Given QF cancelled your flight and their proposed alternative was unacceptable to you, reaccommodation in the class of service booked should have been free of charge. See the following agency policy:

Yes I agree. That is what I told them (South Africa) but the person referred to their supervisor and they said "No" the new price applies. By that stage I had had enough of QF and cancelled the booking entirely. Yet another reason to dump QF - consistently inconsistent.

Still 2 unallocated J seats on qf156.
Where are you seeing two unallocated J seats. On Monday 17th I was told there were no J seats left on 156 and when I started running through alternatives, suddenly they "found" one J seat. They stuffed me around with dealing with second person on the booking till they insisted I had to pay a fare difference to "down grade" the second person to sit in whY. That is when I gave up and cancelled.
