Annual NZ Dinner: AKL 8 March 2025

Where are you seeing two unallocated J seats. On Monday 17th I was told there were no J seats left on 156 and when I started running through alternatives, suddenly they "found" one J seat. They stuffed me around with dealing with second person on the booking till they insisted I had to pay a fare difference to "down grade" the second person to sit in whY. That is when I gave up and cancelled.
Still 2 unallocated J seats on qf156.
Unallocated doesnt mean unsold.

Seeing I’m staying in Auckland from 7-11

I’m planning on going to the

Plus I’m endeavouring to visit a cemetery in north Auckland I think 🤔 to pay my respects to an old friend - not sure how to get there so any pointers or help appreciated

Apologies for the OT - the below intrigued me.

Unallocated doesn't necessarily mean available for sale or rebooking.
This is what I thought as well. Just because a seat is not selected (allocated to a pax) doesn't mean it is available for purchase ... however, the below
Unallocated doesnt mean unsold.
is new information ... wondering if someone can clarify which is correct please?

Anyone have plans or ideas for Saturday?
The most interesting thing I can see from googling "Top 10 things to do in Auckland" for us is maybe a visit to Waiheke?
No plans but travelling solo so definitely keen to hang out with someone 😂

We've both said the same thing. Just because someone hasn't selected a seat doesnt mean they haven't already purchased it. ie it is showing as unallocated but it's sold.

New?

While seat selection may be slightly indicative of how many fares have been ticketed on a flight, fare bucket loading are far more telling. A PAX mich have purchased a ticket for a flight but that does not mean the PAX has selected a seat.

As indicated earlier upthread Y1 with everything else 0's means Qantas are only willing to sell one economy seat on this flight and that at maximum price.
