Annual NZ Dinner: AKL 8 March 2025

Unfortunately we are definite cancellations after 35 minutes on hold to a different 1300 number than usual and requiring a code to have call answered I am sure I got the South African call centre by the accent.
Only J reward seats offered were to fly via MEL on Saturday arriving in AKL after midnight. Obviously pointless. I didn't go any further but may well have cost more points due to extra mileage. So everything cancelled and full refund of points and cash with no change fee.

Bugger. You will be missed.

And @Sprucegoose, the final boioking was for 26, so with the QLDers.

With the predicted storm/cyclone arrival time, I don't think we'll be making our 7:45am flight to SYD on Friday. Especially as the govt has asked everyone who can to remain inside and not travel for the next two days.

Yet to formally rebook the flights, but we're out.

Sorry, this would have been fun without Alfred's interruption!!

I rarely give kudos to Qantas the gouging coughs but they have rebooked Mrs. Craven and I on NZ146 and still in J. Looking forward to a great catch up. CM

Edit: I just checked and it looks like today's (Thur) NZ146 has been cancelled. I hope there is a plan C.

Sadly, we are out. No Plan C turned up at BNE International Airport this morning and with zero communication from Air NZ we copped this:



Their check in counters weren't even manned. I went to the Sales Desk to see if there were any other options. They said the only other QF flights departing today were to SIN, MNL and HND. I asked if there was any J availability (CR) .... no luck. I would have taken any of those destinations after booking a week off work for the AKL gig. Couldn't reroute through SYD or MEL to AKL without massive delays and milk runs. Tried for PER and only 400k QFF points return CR+ flights offered. Looks like I'll have to get down to the MEL gathering. I hope everyone who can travel has a safe and enjoyable time. Caught a taxi back from INT to DOM and had to book a ticket somewhere so we could access the lounge as we had planned to have breakfast at the QPub. The cafe and the Coffee Club were closed and then we get to the DOM J Lounge, and it's shut as well Needless to say, the catering at the normal lounge had not been upgraded. We are now heading to CNS
