Alrighty, I'd love some ideas for things to do in CHC on Saturday and Sunday morning.

Our last trip (adults-only, sans enfant) was a bit of a wipe out with arriving at ~8:30am rather than midnight. Mr Katie and I are happy enough to toodle about, there's a yarn shop I didn't get to last year ... :P but with The Teen in tow, I'm interested in ideas other than the pool at the Doubletree.

Teen is somewhat limited in walking ability at the moment, so we will be Ubering/taxi/public transport.

Gondolas. Antarctic centre. RNZAF museum (it's free). Beach (Sumner). Botanic gardens, punting on the Avon.

@Katie I am not sure if I can provide any constructive advice, we were last in CHC for this same event in 2020. Our daughter also reminded us that she was ditched and had to stay with her grandparents (in AU). Based on the 2020 visit there is the Riverside Market, from there you can walk up though the wall that is dedicated to the lives lost in the 2010/11 earthquake and aftershocks. Then stroll through the gardens to the museum. Almost opposite the museum (give or take) there is the Luminar arts center and during the AFF weekend the main feature is the 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' starting at 10:15 pm, just saying. Also the art museum, and the earthquake center is well worth a visit.

Numbers have been confirmed with the venue, so from this point onwards there are no refunds if you are unable to make it. You are however welcome to sell your spot to someone else, just please keep me in the loop.

We will be kicking off at 6.30pm with canapes, followed by dinner at 7.30pm. Drinks will be at your own expense.
